Bingo in Oklahoma
Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That’s due to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for ages. Clients from every one of the surrounding states load up in automobiles and head over to Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the prior year. Since that time, twenty three of the 39 Indian tribes of Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the wagering restrictions, and at this time run 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which the above-mentioned casinos were founded. Electronic games such as slot machine games weren’t authorized, since they are believed to lead to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts have changed to permit gigantic Native wagering gambling dens. You’ll now see Amerindian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and twenty-one tables. Craps and roulette are still not approved in the Native gambling dens yet, although that is just a waiting game. No one can authority what having other games in the bingo houses will do for the popularity of bingo.
